Sunday Project — Cleaning the BBQ

This one has been a long time coming. Over the years, my bbq has become encrusted with grease, dirt, and leaves and started to lack the cooking efficiency it once had. I cleaned up the inside pretty easily using a steel wire brush and some sandpaper (on the gas vent holes), but the outside was a different story. Although it had been covered when not in use, the grill was caked in oil, grease, cobwebs, dirt, ect. Blind Pig IPA – Bottling Day

Growing hops in containers

So while waiting for my Blind Pig IPA clone to finish dry hopping, I received my order from MoreBeer.com of hop rhizomes. I ordered Cascade, Nugget, and Chinook. They all came in small bags that I put in the fridge until I found out how to grow these things.

Blind Pig IPA clone Dry Hopping

The Blind Pig IPA clone has been in the primary fermentor for 6 days and fermentation has slowed to a crawl (a bubble every 10 or so seconds). It’s time to move it to the secondary fermentor for dry hopping.
